damaged nf7-s
Ok I damaged my board trying to take off the hs/fan. L18 n L19 are the module numbers next to the pieces which look like some sort of transistor. The board doesnt really boot up, doesnt get to the first beep. The chipset fan doesnt start now, which the 2 pieces that are broke off are inbetween the chipset fan and the cpu. Im thinking of just mailing it to abit.... Too much trouble to start an account to host pics of but I have them if anyone wants to view them...

You will most likly have to pay for the repairs as its unlikly that they will cover that under the warrenty. I would get a quote before you have them fix it as it may be less expensive to replace than to fix. the other option is to find an electronics repair shop and have them resolder the parts on. i have done this onece with an Asus mobo when i knocked off a resistor while putting a heatsink on. I was only partialy successful it booted some of the time after that, i ended up haveing to replace the mobo.
sorry to hear about this better luck next time

HSF can be a pain in the butt on AMD boards , as they are mounted pretty high up on the board next to the PSU. I haven't had any problems like that though, cause I always remove the MoBo from the case when doing anything major to the board.............Removeable MoBo tray on my Lian-Li case.........
