nForce chip + Ati card = really BAD ??

On many forums..people said that a mobo like DFI with nForce chip when using with Ati card will get BAD result !!!

I dun really understand that idea ?? is it right ? cause I'm gonna buy an Ati card for my System below

no it won't get a bad result, but nVidia designed the chipset and made it work best with their GPU's... makes sense right?

ATI Video Card + ATI Chipset = Solid & Great Performance

Nvidia Video Card + Nvidia Chipset = Solid & Great Performance

Start mixing and matching and you get normal performance numbers like any Intel, VIA, or SIS chipset as those companies didn't tweak chipset drivers and the design for one specific brand.

ATI will work fine with nVidia....you won;t notice the performace hit...if there is any.....
The nVidia drivers will work better together if using a nForce chip and NV GFX but I really wouldn't worry about it......

I would be concerned about the power supply....your using a 350W PSU...with a OC'ed system and a new GFX card....It might get unstable...

I've been using ATI cards with NF??? chip sets for years......... And when benching systems class for class, the ATI cards have performed equal to the nVidia cards in the same class..........so go for ATI if that's what you're wanting.

I'd get more than a 380... The Antec 380W that came with a case I had was not enough to power my last system that featured a 9800 Pro and a Intel EE processor. (meaning it fried the PSU)

i'm running an overclocked 9700Pro on my older sig rig right now and i threw it into an old case with a generic 350 PSU that came with the $50USD case. i'm running a DFI nf2 mobo with a mobile barton at 250x10 with my BH5 @ 3.3v; or i run 260x10 with my TCCD @ 2.9v. i have two 120 fans, a Smart Fan II at full speed, two hard drives and a Rom all running highly overclocked on my generic 350 PSU that came with my case.

i highly doutb you will need to upgrade past that Antec Quality 380watt PSU. the 9800's require less voltage since they're using an optimised .15µ process core. the 9700's take more power and produce more heat than the 9800s. the Intel machines, especially the the Extreme Edition, those cores output wattage is at or above 100watts. the PWM had to be updated for higher wattage requirements just to run cpu's at 3.0GHz or above. they are current hogs. nothing like the low power A64's running on a Newcastle core and the single chip design of the nf3 250. BTW, my new rig i'm currently building is going to be using the nf3 250gb with a Mobile Newark running around 3.2Ghz.

i'm not saying that my set up is the "perfect setup" but it's working flawlessly for me. only things i've noted are the 3.3volt rail goes down to 3.05v and the 12volt rail goes down to 12.66v under load. these are normal things for the DFI nf2 mobo i'm running as DFI did "in house" vcore mods to get 2.0vcore option out of the 1.85v vsense chip and the vDimm mod off the 3.3v PSU rail to get 3.3vmem option.

the nf3 has nither of these "in house" DFI mods. so i think your Antec will do just fine. but thats just my 2 cents from my own experience.

if you have the money to spare, unlike myself, you should go for the best PSU to future prove it. right now the Enermax Liberty is IMHO your best bet.
