What choise to make, information neede (my fisrt post here)

Post by Homie »

Im currently looking for a new motherboard for my socket 939 "AMD64 4400+ 2.2Ghz & 2Mb cache", 1024Mbx2 Corsair CMX-4000PT 500Mhz, 2 x Point Of View 7800GT, Creative X-Fi Extreme Musik.

So my first choise in a LINEUP of 3 mobos is:

ABIT AN8-32X,nForce4 SLI X16,Socket-939
Image
together with the "ABIT Guru Panel"

My questions to this are, how mutch can i increas voltage and can i se the current voltage ? (On the motherboard im using no i can only increas +0.1 & +0.2 without seeing the current voltage). The same question goes for the CPU voltage settings.
Does it have a fully [16x, 16x] support in SLI mode. I know it only perform 1-3% better then [8x, 8x] in best cases.
Is there any known issues with the X-Fi cards or is it fixed with the newest BIOS ? Is there any specific ABIT comunity(forum), moded BIOS and sutch.

My seccond choise is:
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR
Image
The only thing im worried about here is that there are reports about issues with Creative soundcard products. Im not sure if they aply to the X-Fi series ? Other questions are the same as for the ABIT board.

My third choise is:
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe, nForce4

The same questions as for the ABIT & DFI board's.
I dont know about any issues at all, are there any ?

I personally have used the ASUS and DFI board listed and I loved the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe as it was easy to setup and use. If you want easy thats the board I'd suggest. The DFI Expert is a great board and I'd suggest it if you like spending hours tweaking and tuning your system for ultimate peformance. I'm sure some others will give you input also.

I have an Abit AN8 32X and its been rock solid with my Opty 165 (in Winx64).
The Guru thingy is pretty darn cool too , although I use the Guru clock vs the drive panel due to my pc being "under" my desk (as the panel would be hard to read from that position) . Definitly a cool add-on and benifit from Abit .

All-in-all Ive been very happy with the AN8 32X and its been VERY solid for my overclocking and gaming needs .

Excellant choices you had selected , which makes for a definite hard pick between them . Eitherway you go you should a heck of a system .

Since I have experiance with a few of the Abit AN8 series of boards , my vote goes to the AN8 32X . :finga:
