Amd 64 Motherboard

Post by fgeadie »

Is there such a motherboard out there that would let me upgrade to the Amd 64 but still keep my 1gb of rimms (800)s I have a pentium 1500 but feel that its slowing down now in video pross work as most of the work i do on the computer is to do with video or photography.

you can actually pick up some good 'value ram". Kingston and Corsair actually make some very good stuff. Nate actually wrote up a really nice article on how well it performs as compared to the high end stuff.

Sell your RIMMS also, there are lots of people out there who dont want to pay full price for new RIMMS because they are old tech, i bet you can get close to 50% of the retail value, if not more. That will help you offset the cost of new ram, then you can spring for some fast stuff if you want.
