Trying to build a new HTPC and am looking for a motherboard that has the variable CPU fan and a variable Chassis fan. The Variable chassis fan (PWM) is where I am having not much luck with..

Am looking for….

· Vista Certified

· 6 SATA Ports

· Variable CPU & Chassis fan

· Don’t care about on-board video

· AM2 Socket

· And preferably Cheap ;)

Any suggestions, or opinions out there?

can't think of any motherboards that have 4-pin chassis fan connectors for AMD's AM2...

The Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 uses a very recent nVidia chipset that has 4 SATA and 1 IDE port driven natively (not through the poxy JMB36x). It also allows you to control the chassis fan via the BIOS. It works well, and is also a superb and inexpensive MoBo (with Firewire).

Not sure why 4 SATA ports is not enough??
