Wondering what happened to the ABIT AT8 motherboard? It wasn't running up to par and failed the ATI certification program (along with every other brand, but ASUS). It has since been re-worked and has had a number of changes done to increase performance and overclocking. No word on if ATI has approved it yet.

Here is the e-mail I got from ABIT.
I’m happy to tell you that our RD580 board AT8 32X has finally (re-)arrived.

The performance of our first revision was not up to par with what we (or our users) expect from an ABIT motherboard.

After further revisions and more BIOS-tweaking we are now ready to “re-launch” this board.
Looks like ABIT is back at work and putting out high performance products again! Cheers for them fixing it and not launching it "half done".

What's that molex power connector doing below then PCI slots?

Why can't the mobo makers place them on the right side or top of the board.......this is my biggest gripe with all dual PCIe boards.....

(i know it's to do with trace lenghts/signals, but why not add another layer to the board.....)

I just looked at the ATI site and this board it not yet ATI Certified, but I'll see what ABIT has to say about that. We will have a review of this board next month and will let you know what we think of it.

WOW!!! That's a really awesome mobo to have.

I currently own the eVGA NF4 SLI mobo, but this one is way better (if you're using Cross-Fire, of course).

I really like ABIT motherboards, they have a pretty good layout design...
