Why the switch? Are you having issues with the Expert board? If you get the expert board dialed in it's probably one of the best around.

Exactly!
The Expert board is a real bitch to setup but it is a very, very good board!
I was thinking of changing my board too, untill I actually took the time to really mess around with the settings!......but don't get discouraged IF it isn't stable......Memory settings is usually the thing that makes the expert unstable!

I'm now only stable and I got my ram 1mth ago. (also found out part of my instability was due to dodgy usb wifi drivers aswell)
(SiS163u.sys) -> this was always coming up in my BSODs.....I just presumed I was having mem probs..

Well it is easier and cheaper to just go ahead and stay with what I got, but how about an entire new build would I be better off getting the asus a8n32 or the expert? Clubit.com has the asus for like 197 w/ free shipping so price is the same... Buddy of mine will be having me assist him in his new build...

A8N32 doesn't even stand up to Expert when overclocking.

Choosing between ASUS A8R32-MVP and Expert would be a hard choice tho.

Grunt --> Unless your looking to squeeze out the very last MHz out of all your parts, any of these boards will do...

If your mate needs your assistance to build it, I'd suggest the ASUS board.....It will give the same OC, or very very close to the Expert.
BUT it is SO much easier to use. You have to think about your mate....he's the one who will be using it.....The ASUS board will also mean less calls from him asking you to "tweak this and that" for him....

Don't get greedy and recommend the board YOU want, get what's best for HIM!!!

I'd get the new ASUS board.....when he OC's he won't have to worry about changing the LTD multi and it is newer tech too...

How's your Expert board going for you?

Well he likes the asus but I have the expert so he wants what I have. He doesnt realize he can buy the same exact items but get different results. Also from what I have always understood the ASUS boards are more stable and reliable out of the box. Not really sure about their tech support but Rgone from DFI is always very helpful when I email him. Got about a week or so to decide...

Well if your familiar enough with the Expert then you could get that, but just think of your mate......he wil want this rig built ASAP....all he's thinking about is playing fear etc. and if you get the Expert...he could be waiting a while for you to find the sweet spot for his setup......With Asus you can set most of the bios options to auto and boot straight into windows....for him it would be alot less heartache....he could still tweak, but a quick bios reset and he's stable again....
As you know, setting everyting on the Expert to auto doesn't mean stable! I does for the main memory timings, but the drive strenght settings and when you OC need to manually tweaked......I've got the expert board for 4mths and I'm still finding "quirks" with it.

Have you considered the standard lanparty series? Their Bios is very mature and they are easy to use....Plus they can OC just as much as the Expert......give or take a few MHz

Your not going to see any performance difference between any of the boards mentioned!
