ECS K75SA PRO overclocking

Post by KnightRid »

OK, well I tried this OC thing, and it seem I can only get my mainboard to go to 142.7 - cpu, 35.7 - PCI, 142.7 - RAM....I tried to go to 146.7/36.7/146.7 but it wont even boot - just a black screen.

the 2400+ is supposedly running like a 2600+ now ( hrmm..whole whopping 200mhz huh..lol ).

Anyone know of anything i can do to try and go higher? my temps seem REAL good so far, and I had to put the BIOS from here - http://www.lejabeach.com/ECS/ez.html - on to overclock. I dont seem to have the ability to change voltages, or even everything individually, I have to change them all or nothing...wierd.

Mike

Maybe i should try my Gigabyte GA-7N400 PRO2 wit hte Barton 300+ on it..seems like I can change CPU only on this one ( from speedfan anyway, havent checked BIOS yet. ) - any ideas on this one would be appreciated also.

I think you might be limited with that board....

See if there is an option to lock the PCI/AGP to 33/66MHz....

didnt see any options to lock it in :(

I see some people got the 2400 to run like a 3000 on air cooling - now that would be worth it!

Thats what I get for getting crappy motherboards :)

Any ideas for the gigabyte?

The Gigabyte board uses an nForce 2 chipset as far as I know....

Check the bios options first, but I'd SAY you would have a better chance with that board.....Gigabyte normally hide all the advanced options in their bios....you can get to them by pressing CTRL+F1 Image

You can also use ClockGen with the nForce chipset to overclock via windows.....

With the ECS K75SA PRO thats about as good as your going to get(200mhz oc) .

Even with a modded bios there's still is no votage adjustments , very limited if any PCI/AGP or memory locks .

Trust me on this , as I still own a K75SA PRO in a back-up rig and 200mhz is about the max for the board .
