As some of you know I run an AMD based system with a Epox-9U1697GLI motherboard (
http://www.epox.com/USA/product.asp?id=EP-9U1697GLI )
And I just now purchased a 4GB Black iPod Nano to play my music on. So far Ive only seen one documented issue concerning compatability issues between the motherboard and iPod. Can anyone put this concern to rest or confirm it for me?

Wow, I've never heard of that issue before....seems like a weird one because iPOD's usually show up as an external drive so it shouldn't be any different than a flash drive. If there was a true issue, I think Epox would acknowledge it and release a BIOS update to fix. I'd contact them directly.

One review of the motherboard noted that the system stuttered and struggled to recognize the iPod as an external drive, and when it did, it showed up as a drive with no available space and no drive size.

Is it an old review and do they list the BIOS revision? I would think if this was a widespread issue there would be more info on it.

it was a release review, most of the reviews on it are strictly benchmarks

So are you experiencing this problem? And are you updated to the latest BIOS, win updates etc?

Ive not recieved the iPod nano yet, but Im concerned about this problem, and if there is actually a problem, I want to take steps to resolve it before it actually causes me trouble

IF it becomes a problem, you can try either a usb hub or a usb pci card......the card would be a safer bet....only cost ~$20
Welcome to the forums btw!
