Symptoms: PC turns on, fans spin up, computer appears to boot into windows, but there is no video output. Monitor is dim with an amber power light, apparently getting no signal.
Hardware: In signature.
Troubleshooting: Occasionally during troubleshooting, the 8800 GTS / P5K would boot up with video. The 8800 GTS video card works fine in other PC. Other PCIE video cards work fine in the P5K board. Plugged a speaker into the P5K board and the BIOS error code beeped LSSS, indicating the obvious - it could not find a VGA adapter.
Resolution: When the 8800 GTS was seated firmly in the PCIE slot and both screws bolted it securely onto the case, the board could not see it. When the 8800 GTS was seated more loosely in the PCIE slot and not completely bolted down, it worked fine. The card isn't going anywhere. It's screwed onto the case, but it's not pushed ALL the way in.
This was the result of several days of hair-pulling frustration - swapping hardware, reseating everything, taking the computer apart and putting it back together, updating the mobo BIOS, updating the video card BIOS, sacrificing chickens, etc. I found posts from other puzzled users on a variety of forums with similar hardware and the same problem and none of them appeared to have found a resolution. Or, if they did, they didn't share.
Hopefully this information will come in handy for someone in the future.
Toodles!

Re: Asus P5K Deluxe - no video display (resolved)
By the sounds of it, the card was bending the motherboard.
The P5K series boards are VERY sensitive to bends!

i have the same problem!
I tried ur way with the 8800GTS 320 but it didnt help
exactly how much is ur card inserted?
I have even had it returned and it worked fine for them and they updated to latest bios.
i know that cpu memory and gcard works 100%
i have 500w psu
i cleared cmos twice
i tried different ram and even without ram
havent tried a different gcard though since i dont have access to one.
when i just change motherboard everything works fine but when i move over all hardware to asus p5k this happens!
what the **** can it be?

Hello guys..plz help..I have the same situ..but a bit different...
I have asus P5LD2 VM SE..which is a 945G mobo and a Pentium D 1.8 processor...and I have a unbranded 450W PSU with about 18amps on the 12V rail...
i got a 8800GT about 2 months back and it was running fine till last evening....
last evening when i tried to switchon, the PC will post, and come up to the windows boot screen, but before it will come to the login screen the monitor will say NO VIDEO and switch off (the PC keeps on going.I can hear all the fans etc..)
then I tried taking out the VGA, dusting it off and seating it firmly in the slot and even screwed it in..I doubkle checked the PSU connectors and removed some of my hard disks and the dvd rom... still no improvement..some time sit will come up to the boot screen, sometimes at the very beginning and sometimes even without posting it will say NO VIDEO.......... can u guys plzzz help??

Could be that your 8800GT is going bad.
Try resetting the CMOS on your motherboard.
Then if it doesn't work, try going into safemode. If it boots into safe mode then it's a nvidia driver problem.
What sort of monitor are you using?
