Trouble with Xeon 5410 on Intel S5000XVN

Post by Dozer »

Hey LR..

So i got my brand new CPU home, opened the package and smacked in the CPU.

When i put it in, the system started, but instead of all the LED's on the board making it's own little show, a solid blue LED just kept on glowing, and *nothing* happened.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboar ... 022346.htm <-- as you can see on this link it says my BIOS needs to be rev 84 to support the CPU, and according to CPU-Z (if i read it correctly) i have rev 86B, which you can see here http://peecee.dk/upload/view/110574 .

Now, does anyone have any clue to why the new CPU wont boot ? As soon as i changed back to the old CPU, it booted just fine..

Okay, so now i got the bios updated, and booted with the CPU. But.. (oh yes, there's always a but...) now i get an error that says something about mismatched core voltage, and because of that it wont boot up, but just slam me in the bios every single time..

Any bright ideas ?

Sounds like it is complaining that the two CPUs you have in that board are using different core voltages.

They are both the same CPU right?

Try manually setting the voltages (If you can).

No, i only have the one CPU in the motherboard.

And i've tried to change Vcore, but i can't seem to find the settings for it anywhere..

Nope, but i did it after i swapped, and cleared the Logs, so that i would be sure if the error was continous, which it was. Cleared the logs, and the error came right back.

I am having the exact same problem.

If anyone has resolved this issue or have info please let me know as I am stumped.

I was ussing a brand new fully updated S5000XVNSATAR board with a single E5??? Quad Core 1.6 Ghz processor with 12 GB pof ECC Registered RAM.

I replaced the single 1.6 GHz processor for two E5430 processors. Now I am getting the exact same error ( a19 fatal error CPU volage mismatch). I even tried using the origanal 1.6 GHz processor again to see if this would clear the A19 error but each and every time I reboo the server I go directly to the bios with this fatal error. How caould I fix this when I can't get past the bios to boot any updates or fixes???

Any help would be appriciated.
