Post by mumblehere »

Im having 865gbf mobo and p4 2.4 proccy. No gfx card.

What is the max display resolution I can get in this mobo?

will sammy 2033 (1600 x 900) and 2233 (1920 x 1080) run in it at native resolutions?

(only for browsing/coding, not planning for gaming or hd movies right now)

Are you wanting to run them both at the same time?

From what I can see, the Intel "Integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2" chip on your motherboard is able to output to screens that big (at least separately, not sure about at the same time).

no, not planning to run both, just one only.

but i am concerned as to whether 1920 x 1080 ll be supported in this board.
if not, whether 1600 x 900 ll be supported.
so that i can get the lcd, i prefer 1080.

just wanna confirm.

If you go in your screen resolution properties (right click desktop > properties), in one of the submenu's (I think it's the advanced button on the resolution page), in one of the tabs you should be able to untick "hide modes this monitor can't display". This will enable a lot higher resolutions that your motherboard can display but your current monitor can't. Have a look if 1920x1080 is under the resolution page now.

Remember to turn back on the "hide modes this monitor can't display" afterwards.

Well if it shows all the way up to 2048, then you should be good to go with 1920x1080.
