That is a sweet board! The digital optical and coax out and external SATA features are especially appealing. Also good to see them still able to use passive cooling on the chipset. Hopefully it's enough!
Those "universal" PCI-Express slots are pretty cool too.

Anyone know exactly what the "Dolby Master Studio" audio entails/includes? And what do they mean by "native" DDR2 800 support? Is there anything besides that?
How about retail price? It better be less than $190! New motherboards now are just outragiously expensive!!!

Only downside I can see right off the bat is the placement of the CMOS battery. It's right between the video cards. So you'll have to remove the video card in order to get at it.

I'll keep it in mind when Conroe comes out......But I'm sure ASUS will have a bigger/better board by then......

I've always loved ASUS boards.....Sooo easy to work with and EVERYTHING works LOL (not like a certain chipset I'd rather not mention! :axe: )

Dolby Master Studio
The premier set of Dolby audio presentation capabilities is designed to bring your entertainment to life and give you the power to author DVDs with discrete multichannel Dolby Digital surround sound. Amaze your family and friends with 7.1 channels of surround sound, delivering the most natural and engrossing entertainment experience possible from DVD movies, music, games, and TV. Dolby Master Studio merges advanced audio rendering with flexible controls and powerful digital signal processing to give you the power to tailor the listening experience to your media, mood, listening environment, and audience—just like the pros in the studios.

Dolby Master Studio features:
Dolby Digital—Delivers up to 5.1 discrete channels of surround sound, bringing the cinema experience home.

Dolby Digital Live—Converts any stereo or multichannel audio signal to Dolby Digital format for a dramatic, real-time audio experience and simple (one plug) connection to an A/V receiver for playback.

Dolby Digital EX*—Creates a rich, surround-sound home theater experience by adding a sixth channel (Center Back) to content encoded in Dolby Digital Surround EX to pinpoint surround sound behind the listener.

Dolby Pro Logic IIx—Delivers the most natural, seamless 6.1- or 7.1-channel listening experience. Processes any high-quality stereo, 5.1, or Dolby Digital Surround EX–encoded content into 6.1 or 7.1 playback channels, depending on speaker configuration.

Dolby Headphone—Accurately simulates a 5.1-channel surround-sound speaker system from a set of headphones.

Dolby Virtual Speaker—Simulates a properly placed 5.1-channel speaker system from a pair of stereo speakers. Ideal for enthusiasts when a surround-sound system is not practical.

Dolby Digital 5.1 Creator—The power to master your own discrete Dolby Digital multichannel soundtracks on DVD-Video discs at home. Efficient encoding saves recordable disc space, allowing for higher video resolution or extended recording time. Compatible with virtually any DVD-Video player (depending on media and recording system).

Very Nice! Thanks for the info Nate.
Answered all my questions. It's good to see the Dolby Digital Live being integrated back onto chipsets!

Does anyone know if intel is going to have to make another frickin' chipset for Conroe or will the 975 chipset work? That is really my biggest concern since I could really care less about anything based on Prescott anymore
