Hi guys, first post here, seems to be a good collection of badaxe2 data.
Something that I've searched for but not found any reference to is a problem with the specific combo of comonents I've got.
d975xbx2
xfx 8800gtx
antec p180b
When I install the video card in the first pci-e slot the cooler covers the audio header pretty much. I can squeeze the front panel connector on underneath but its pressing against the video too hard for my liking - does anyone else have this problem when installing? Did you install the 8800 in one of the other slots?
I'm getting no beeps on booting up and windows install will not pass xp pro installation prompt. Reboots itself.
any suggestions much appreciated,
matt

Finally pinned down the problem to one of my memory sticks, returned it for a new pair and its all running pretty sweet. Compared to the problems I had installing overclocking seems like a walk in the park.
now running at 3.33 ghz with only a small hike in the memory voltage.
one thing I'd like to ask though is I'm using a 301mhz bus and multiplier of 11, would it be better off lowering the cpu multiplier and raising the fsb to 333?
what should my memory speed and timings be to hit a comfortable 3.3/3.4 ghz overall?
I'm using corsair xms2 6400 800mhz 5-5-5-18
cheers

good to hear you got the problem pinned down... XMS2 6400 is awesome memory and you should be able to run at least 4-4-4-12 with a little more voltage... That should really help performance. As for the FSB.... Generally speaking a higher FSB and a lower multiplier will increase performance because the bandwidth is increased.
Great, I'll give those timings a shot, thanks
Have taken the overall processor speed down to 3Ghz now as the cpu was running too hot for my liking (high-70s on load) and as I do a lot of rendering it does get pretty taxed.
Might also swap the zalman 9500 for a tunic tower when i can find the time.
So does no-one have a problem fitting their audio connector for the front panel underneath the massive 8800gtx on this board?
