especially considering the hoops they make you jump through just to send em a letter. I think there was a 'what time do you usually relieve yourself' question in there somewhere.

For quite some time now, I'm not having the PS2 issue anymore. Why? I pull the plug when my pc is turned off.
But sure enough, today I tried shutting down the pc, and turning it back on, without having the plug pulled in between. Guess what? PS2 Keyboard not detected.

At the beginning, when I had lots of those PS2 Keyboard not detected problems, I had my pc plugged in the whole time... Anyone else eager to try?

Does not work for me :(

The only thing that works for me is a reboot or preferably at post I hit f2 then left arrow then enter then "y" after cold boot.

Same problem here. When the PS2 keyboard doesn't work, the PS2 mouse doesn't work either.

I talked to Intel Tech Support.
They told me they've never heard of such a problem.

Yeah, well, they never hear of this problem because their stupid techsupport robot eats all those requests and returns some silly generic BS.

Let's take a survey of the types of keyboard that people are using or have tried and which ones work or don't work.

I have a Compaq PS2 keyboard that works on cold boot.

My main keyboard is a Keytronic Flexpro ergonomic keyboard. It's a AT keyboard with a AT->PS2 adapter. This keyboard does not work from a cold boot.

yeah, maybe it's really a problem with certain mices and keyboards only (because here i only have problem with the mouse, not the keyboard). things is, on a different machine the same devices don't have problems ...

Keyboard: Cherry G80-3000LQMDE PS/2 (no problems)
Mouse: Sharkoon Premium Laser Mouse USB->PS/2 (problems)

Fujitsu-Siemens KBPC-PS2

With power cord plugged before starting the box, the keyboard always gets recognized on cold boot. Otherwise, it mostly does not.

I'm not giving up on this 8 year old thing. It always worked without flaws in a lot of different computers.

BTW have you checked out our shiny happy p35 based boards yet? What? you just bought the 975xbx2 and aren't interested in giving us more till we fix your current problem? Well I'll have to get the manager........click........Hello? ...........

ok I think I have found what the issue is... If you have a Microsoft wireless keyboard / mouse it has two (2) plugs on the end of the cable.. When you probably plugged in both cables.. (a p\s2 keyboard and a USB cable).. Well this MB picks up the keyboard on both cables and get confused... If you unplug the p\s2 cable everything works correctly. trust me it was really confusion and goes against the grain but it works... The f2 even works in the BIOS if you make sure the F-lock light is on on the reciever module. try it give me shout if it works..

Keytronic Flexpro keyboard here.
If I use a PS2->USB adapter everything works fine.
It's not the fact that there are two keyboards plugs used, but the fact that it's on PS2.
