So far so good! The only people I see really bitching are those using 4 x 1GB of RAM (typically vista) and quad cores trying to do heavy OC's.

Do you both have the SE versions and are you water cooling?

*EDIT* maj0r_pawnage - I see your comment now about cooling on air.

my ram is kinda holding me back, its @ ddr986 right now, and it wont go over 450ish fsb if i set it to a higher divider, also its if i push it too far, it just shuts down and wont restart, i spent 2days trying to figure out what was wrong, clearing cmos does nothing, only thing that works is if i take one stick of ram out, and move the 2nd stick to the first white slot, thats the reason i dont really wanna push it any higher than 484fsb because last time it died @ 485 :-/

i guess if i upgrade my cpu 485 will land me somewhere in the mid 4GHz range so i shouldnt be complaining

It may be the then transaction booster. This helped me when I was having issues with the dividers:
IN BIOS:
IF 400 strap then transaction booster = enabled / 0
IF 333 strap then transaction booster = disabled /0 or 1 (1 worked for me).

It's the "tRD" latency setting. It's also called "Performance Level" in memset and it's a very important setting for memory performance & stability.

oh, you could get a pretty sweet air cooler and an e8400 for the same price :-/, also w00t i got up to 505fsb, ddr1010/ [email protected], doesnt seem to want to go any higher and im not comfortable with these super high temps( im broke so no cash for water) so ill probably tone it down a little

:-( couldnt reach the doubled cpu speed point tho

hmm another weird thing seems to be happening, i set vcore to 1.45, and i check it in hardware monitor and it says 1.41, so i boosted it to to 1.47 and it says 1.42 now( i boosted increased it because it would freeze up while trying to log into windows) infact, almost all my other voltages are way higher than what i set in bios ..?

argh, i was playing WoW and it rebooted itself, then it wouldnt post, and now the only way i can get it to post is by taking out the second ram stick, and no matter what i try it wont post with the 2nd stick in, but it works perfectly when there is only 1stick in, any ideas :-/

Try increasing the memory voltage a tad.

Try the vdroop mod to stabilize your voltage on your vcore- Use a HB / 3B / 4B pencil, 2 or 3 strokes only.

That doesn't sound good. What voltage were you using? Some guy over at XS is claiming 2.2 and over is killing the ballistix. I think he is full of it as they are rated for 2.2v stock. It does seem that the board overvolts the vdimm by about 0.1v so be mindful of that. I hope your stick didn't die.

i think i killed my ram :-/ i put in the 2nd stick by itself and it wouldnt post, only works with one of the sticks, i still got 30day direct replacement so ill just grab a new pair tomorrow and hopefully they will survive longer... i had it @ 2.4V, when i touched the sticks when they were @ 2.4 my i couldnt keep my fingers on them for more than 1second they were really hot, i decided to turn the voltage down to 2.34V and then it became unstable, but before i could turn it back up it died

should i exchange them for any other type of ram instead ? http://canadacomputers.com/main.php?do= ... AM.346.307

ps i got about $40 im willing to put ontop of it (i paid 113 not 96 as listed on site)

I like the ballistix personally but go with what you like. If the board does overvolt by 0.1v then you were running 2.5v through them which is prolly too much for any length of time.
