Hey All,
I just recently built a box on the D975XBX2 board. I've installed os/x on the intel onboard sata ports (w/o raid) and its working fine. Im now trying to get XP going on the marvell sata ports. I keep running into this issue, however, when trying to select a partition to install xp:
"this disk does not contain a windows compatible partition"
This occurs when i try either a RAID1 set or no RAID. I've additionally tried creating a partition, formatting the partition NTFS from the recovery console, fixboot on the partition and fixmbr without any luck. I'm about to try a lowlevel format as i suspect there's an mbr issue (although not sure why fixmbr wouldnt resolve that.) I bought the bad axe board openbox so im starting to worry there's an issue with the raid controller itself (assuming it wouldnt be this difficult to install xp on the board from scratch.)
I'd appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Cheers
D975XBX2 Marvell RAID Problem
Re: D975XBX2 Marvell RAID Problem
So (finally) figured it out. If i disconnect the drives on the intel controller, xp is able recognize the partitions/raid array on the marvell. Hope this helps someone else out.
