it's not a CL (Cas Latency) change it's a change of the CMD (Command Rate)
Right now you are running 4-4-4-12; 1T --- It should be 4-4-4-12; 2T
If you're overclocking the system with a command rate of 1T you'll get crashes and blue screens of death unless you got lucky and can run it. I run 2T on my Core 2 Duo system also as the Intel Bad Axe motherboard can't handle 1T either.

the wierd thing is that it only locks up at things that need no more processing power then a digital air condition controller.

is it necessary to run 2 instances of prime 95 for 8 hours? or just use memtest?

holiday
Well i have set the cl to 2 instead of auto which was 1, i was too damn tired to run any tests but i did run the si-soft sandra burn in and it passed at 2.56. I had changed the speed to 3.2 with GuRu but sisoft uses the system reconized settings!? And didnt utilize the full speed it had avalible so i tested just under the x6800 because it tested me at 2.56..damnit.
Thats when i said the hell with it and crashed.
With the next 11day holiday i will definatly be beating on it pretty good. What are some good (Gameplay and Graphic intensive) games to run? I will be playing HL2 in hard mode at 1400x1050 4xaa and 4x anastropic filtering with everything set for Quality.
The highest i have seen the temp on the processor so far was 51c when i was running the prime 95.

Re: FLUSH TOMS HARDWARE
Have you tested with Orthos yet? You need to find the cause of those crashes! I suggest running yourr RAM on a divider (make it run slower via bios) and test with Orthos. If it passes a few hours then the RAM might be the prob, if it fails, then the CPU might be the problem.
If it is the RAM, try adding a little more voltage and or lossen the misc. timings a little.
If it's the CPU, add a little more voltage, but watch your temps!
Happy Christmas BTW!

any multi-core threaded game will push your system and graphics very nicely... F.E.A.R. is a darker game, but max the graphics out and install all the patches and at 1600x1200 with full AA and AF it will bring most systems to their knees ;) I've also found that it pushes peak power consumption on the graphics cards too, so everything it cranking... Quake 4 with the 1.2 patch is a game you might have and has SMP support... you have to enable it in the options menu though for it to work as it's not enabled by just starting the game.

sheit, thats a lot of games. How is splinter cell (double agent)?
I have ghost recon...it came with the xfx video card.
how is Fear? Do you mean hl2 episode 1? Or did they drop a new episode?
I might have to make a troip to frys and or bestbuy/compusa/circuit city to go pick up 1 or 3 of them.

hl2 episode 2 is coming out 'soon' for HL2 and it will support 4 cores (previous episodes and HL2 support 2 cores) If you already have ghost recon max out the graphics and resolution and see what happens.

well id love to but the gd thing is crashing all the time now!!??? I am about to throw it in the pool. I dont know what the damn problem is now. It is completly unclocked and still wont load ****. I will be lucky to even get this post sent. I thought it was the cl2 setting but i changed that and as soon as i attempt to load a game it crashes 5 seconds after the title screen loads. I am about to do a format c: and completly reload. All i want to do is get it to work now. I have missed the 7day return for parts so i am screwed. The fkin thing worked untill today with very minor lockups. now it freezes and reboots.

Ok. Windows finally posted it recovered from a servous error. The cause of the machine locking up is a device driver. It does not say wich one. I am thinking about taking this board back and getting a diff one maybe the abit awd9-pro i am going to check the forum for review of that and see if it is worth my time or if i should go with a Gigabyte board... decisions to make.
