D975XBX2, Vista 32 & Intel Audio Studio

I know a number of people have complained of the scratchy sound from the Sigmatel drivers that came with the Bad Axe 2, but don't think anyone has mentioned that while the updated Vista 32 driver works fine, it does not contain the Intel Audio Studio. Here is what I got from Intel when I asked about it:
In regards to this technical support inquiry about the Intel(R) Audio Studio, please be aware that no version of this application is currently compatible with Microsoft* Windows Vista(TM), since the new version is still under development.
When it is released, you will be able to download it here:
http://intel.com/design/motherbd/software/ias/
Compatible drivers for Windows Vista(TM) on your motherboard can be found here:
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts ... uctID=2578
The first link mistakenly reports that the IAS is included with the driver. When I inquired about this discrepancy, I got the following:
The Intel(R) Audio Studio is included with the Sigmatel* Audio driver for Windows* XP versions. We do not have an ETA for the release of the new version of this program, but when available, you should be able do download it here:

I suppose Windows Media Player will do many of the things that IAS offers, but just another example of slow support for Vista from Intel. I don't think there was a single useful driver on the MOBO installation CD.
