iTunes with D975XBX2 and Vista?

I can't get iTunes to run without crashing under vista and my D975XBX2, whether it's the current version of iTunes or an older one. I'm wondering if it's because I'm using the Marvell sata connectors (I need to use Marvell for a RAID1 setup because I couldn't get my 2 Maxtor drives to run under Matrix). I recently upgraded my Marvell drivers to the current one and still have the same problems. I even un-RAIDed my 2 Maxtors to see if that helps, and I'm still crashing. I'm assuming it might be a Marvell problem because when iTunes crashes, my harddrive activity light stays on.
Anyway, just curious if anyone else is using iTunes successfully with this motherboard, Vista, and Marvell-driven sata drives. In the meantime, my laptop runs XP and I'm having no problems with it while managing the same media library, so I've been relying on that to update my ipod.
Thanks in advance,
WilburNJ

My guess is it's the OS. I've used iTunes on my system in XP without issue. Although I don't have a raid array.

Yeah, I suspect it's a vista/driver error issue. My pc has the itunes-specific fix for vista already installed (per the Apple support site). Anyway, I'm just trying to poll users here to see if anyone is using iTunes with vista and the marvell sata ports successfully on this mobo. Thanks.

I'm running Vista Home Premium. I have an esata external drive connected to Marvel. Itunes runs without problems.

rwolds9, thanks for the info. So, I guess it's not a combination of Marvell and vista and itunes. Maybe I'll disable mcafee and see if that helps. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas because I can't imagine there's anything else that would be conflicting with itunes....

Using iTunes on Vista, no problems. I don't have that fabulous Intel board though

FYI, the problem appears to have been the Marvell sata controller. I moved my 2 Maxtor drives to the Matrix ports and now everything is fine. Unfortunately, I've never been able to RAID my two maxtor drives with the Matrix controller, so now I have 2 western digital raptors and 2 maxtors running without any redundancy. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to back up my data more manually....
Anyway, I just wanted to pass this along to the board for future reference.
