BIOS Ver. 2792 is up for grabs

New Fixes/Features: Fixed issue where system unable boot to connected bootable device,
when all devices in Advanced mode are disabled. Added ITK Data Var Type 3 to store VAREQ variable. Fixed issue where IIA or ITK could not set boot order correctly. Fixed issue where ITK/IIA could not set Boot Order if the Boot
Menu Type in the BIOS Setup was set to Advance. Implemented changes to support the ITK Map File Specification
version 1.15. Fixed issue where ITK or IIA could not read boot drives' model
strings. Fixed an intermittent failure seen with EFI_VARIABLE in Windows*
environment. Fixed issue where ITK or IIA could not access Boot Priority List
when all the boot devices disabled in the BIOS Setup.

No idea what any of this means.

EDIT: HEY! this is my 100th post!!! Do I get a cake or cookie or something? :supz:

I did, and it went smoothly. i used the ISO method, since the EB method does not run on Vista x64. I can't notice any difference and can't give any pros and cons.

Mine is done, no issues. I used iflash off of a floppy. Doesnt break ECC, and Vista didnt seem to react to it in any negative way.

No problem here. Flashed the same as 2785. Unplugged power to the burner, replugged after flash and everything runs normally. My impression was that it seemed to boot faster. Anyone else notice that?

With this bios, the following settings don't work for me:
CPU Fan Control
System Fan Control
Regardless of the setting in bios [Enabled/Disabled] the fan control is always enabled. Tried F9 to load defaults, but no luck. Suggestion? Can anyone try this on their system?

This means the problem is only with me. Can anyone suggest how to fix this? I want to be able to disable fan control, and I can't...

Try emailing Intel support. I dont think they will do much since they suck, but you should make them aware of the problem.

The other thing to try is to take your 2032 battyery out for 2 hours while the computer is unplugged. Then do an iflash updated with /md or use the recovery jumper and a floppy or CD with the bios BIO file on it. I have never done the recovery with anything but the floppy.

I have to say, the recovery jumper is cool, but not having a drain-CMOS jumper is rather annoying.

None of the methods worked. Fan control is stuck at enabled. Contacted Intel Support by phone. They had me perform the same troubleshooting as already advised. In addition to the fan control problem, I was never able to update the bios from within Windows using the EB.exe method.
Intel is going to RMA my board.
