Quick, someone grab some oven gloves, it's the 680i chipset again
//mmmn toasty

Looks like EVGA are saying 680i the chipset is NOT compatible with Intel's 45nm chips
Way to go NV

I'm not wasting my money on this board when I just got an email from BFG saying that my 680i SLI board will support the qx9650 with just a bios update
ill buy another mobo late next year when intel changes their cpu socket design then i will need a new mobo

I'm usually an AMD guy, by MMMMMM toasty I suppose you mean the board runs hot. I have been looking at Intel processors for the first time in years since AMD is taking hind teat in performance these days so I'm trying to avoid making the oh heck I shouldn't have bought that board mistake. Plus some of the OC I see on the intel boards make a mans mouth water!

"mmmn toasty" means the 680i chip set runs hot, not the cpu.
Most people are adding 3rd party coolers on the chip set to get high FSB (<450MHz)
Intel chip sets run (nearly as) hot too, but at least most board makers are including adequate cooling.
680i is far too old IMHO
