new intel fan on the way

ok I'm currently using a amd brisbane 3600 x2 overclocked from 1.9 to 2.8. Now I'm kinda plateaued on what I can do with amd. I can upgrade to the 6000 (phenom is not worth the amount vs performance at all) and the 6000 isn't much stronger than mine due to lack of overclockability. I've heard good things about the 2140 and 2160. Are these worth it? Or is the upgrade pointless again due to being only a little stronger. And amd has tricks like. the 3600 (1.9) 3800 (2.0) 4000(2.1) etc. basically the core is the same just higher clock speeds. And you can overclock the 3600 as much as the 5000 same clock speeds. Intel have any tricks like that with the core2duo or the quad core?

Tricks? Selling the same core at different speeds is how AMD/Intel make money from people who don't know how to overclock
You can overclock a 2140 or 2160 to around the 3Ghz mark, which as you know, clock for clock Intel blows AMD out of the water in performance.
For the price, and the overclockability, they are a super upgrade for anyone coming from AMD or p4 that isnt afraid to overclock.

haha yea, So it would be a huge jump from my 3600 @ 2.85. You know it really sucks I got the AM2 board when it first came out thinking that it would be a great thing to do. At the time AMD was still in the lead for price. And would upgrade to the next big series they released. Now well, there is no series that will really boost my performance much. Just slightly and I'm not into that. Now I'm getting a new intel board. and then I guess I'll splurge by the most recommended processor. I hear the quad really isn't as powerful yet since the overclocking isn't as extreme and nothing utilizes the 4 cores.
