I have a D975XBX2 + E6750 and the system wont boot. I see now that the E6750 is not supported. I have not built a system in 10 years so some of this is new to me. In the old days we didnt have so many touchy issues. Here is my list of parts.
D975XBX2 MB
E6750 processor with Intel fan
Corsair CM2X1024-6400 DDR2 800Mhz 2 sticks
Cooler master 500 PS
ATI Radeon X1050
Seagate 250G SATA drive
I turn the system on with the on board power button. Right now I only have the 3 power supply cables connected, the 2 memory sticks and the ATI card connected. Hitting the button on the board only turns the fan on. The keyboard lights never flash and I dont get a beep. I am guessing that the bios reads the silcon ID in sees that is not supported and stops. If I only install on DDR stick then the brd ticks for ever. It is a very low volume tick from the beeper. I guess that is the bios trying to do a memory test but fails and retries over and over again.
Let me know what you think.
