D975XBX2 OCZ PC2-8500 RAM

Hi I have a D975XBX2 motherboard with 4gb of OCZ PC2-8500 Ram (OCZ2N1066SR1G) and E6600 Processor. When I run CPU-Z it shows PC2-6400 ram. I'm a newby at system build, I left alll my system settings on automatic when I build it and never noticed the ram wasn't running at proper speed. I pretty sure I just need to change some of the default settings to get the most potential out of this system. Thanks Rodger
