Intel DX38BT and DX48BT2 Motherboards Share The Same Bios

Just got an e-mail from Intel about the upcoming DX48BT2 motherboard and found out that the DX38BT BIOS works on it! Intel wants system builders to know that moving from the older Intel X38 Express chipset powered DX38BT to the new Intel X48 Express DX48BT2 motherboard will not impact anything really...
Because of the similarity to the DX38BT platform, Intel has strived to enable a smooth transition between the two platforms. Therefore, the existing DX38BT drivers and BIOS will work on DX48BT2. There will soon be a dedicated DX48BT2 site live. However, for the short term, please access the following website for all drivers and updated BIOS files for DX48BT2: http://www.intel.com/products/motherboa ... /tools.htm

That's weird.

Intel will still be making a dedicated X48 BIOS after right? As I would have thought just using the X38 BIOS would have not let intel tweak the performance of the X48 to its full potential.

X38 & X48 are the same chip.

Hi i own a intel DX38BT and need some help with configuration (sound 7.1) and ram to 1333.
Still there? can you helpme?
