1 x 4 Power Conntector on Intel DX48BT2 MB

Post by Schweitzer1966 »

I'm confused - am I suppose to connect the 1 x 4 power connection on the Intel DX48BT2 MB even if I already have the 2 x 12 AND 2 x 4 power connection to the M/B using a new CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX 620W (ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V) power supply?

There is no harm in doing so, but unless you are running xfire (or even triple xfire), then it won't make much difference.

It is designed to provide additional power for the PCIe slots. But if you are only using one card then the PCIe slot already has plenty of power.

I only use it on the DX48BT2 motherboard when running CrossFire with multiple GPUs. I don't hook it up when running just one, but either way it won't hurt anything.
