I can't seem to find a definitaive answer... Will these boards support the newer 45Nm quad cores? Or do I have to upgrade?

No, you will need to upgrade.

You need a processor that runs on a FSB of 1066 for the XBX2. The newer processors run 1333 FSB so it will not work.
