Im not an expert and or even very knowledgeable about quad duo core or processors in genereal and this might even be the wrong forums to ask this question, so i know this might sound really stupid...

I just bought a comp with Intel Core2 processor Q6600 (2.40Ghz 1066FSB) w/Quad Core Technology and 8MB cache and i was wondering if it has the same kind of support for comp games that say they support Duo Processor. Common sense tells me yes but i wanna make sure.

It will game just fine although I'm not really sure if there are any games optimized for quad cores.

Hey Trionix! Welcome to the LR Forums first and foremost!
Core2Duo processors have 2 processing cores in them, and the Quads have 4 (as your common sense already dictated)
Some games are already optimized for more than 1 core, and you won't have to do anything special to your settings on your computer in order to take advantage of this if you play one of those games.

In gaming you'll find yourself more limited by your cores clock speed. 2.4Ghz should be fine for moderate gaming, but as a general rule of thumb, the higher the clock frequency, the better the game performance! Some people overclock their processors, some people buy faster-clocked CPUs. At either option, we'll be glad to help you out with your questions!

It will work with every game, but unfortunatly it won't be twice as fast! Quad cores really shine in multimedia applications (image processing, video, decoding... etc)
