Let's start a list of what motherboards do/will support the Prescott Processor. If you know of a motherboard that "WILL" support the Prescott... please give an ETA date on the release if you know it. As Nate or I find out which mobos support the prescott, we will gladly post it here.

In case any of you did not know... many motherboard manufacturers chose not to include support for the prescott processor when they designed their original Canterwood and Springdale mobos... even though they supposedly were given the information to be able to do so.

So we have been and will continue to see new "revisions" or new models of mobos with Prescott Support hitting the market. So if you want to take advantage of the predicted price cuts on Intel Processors, on Oct 26, then you may want to make sure you get a mobo that will also work for Prescotts if you plan on an easy upgrade in the future.

According to the motherboard manual of the MSI Neo2-FIS2R Springdale, it can take the Prescott Processors. You can read the review of this motherboard HERE.

As I mentioned... as we come across more motherboards that can take the prescott, we will let you know... but don't hesitate to let us know of something we haven't posted yet can take the prescott as well!

Don't the Abit IC7 Max3 support Prescott? I think the new Asus boards might as well - at this stage - Intel could always decide to make some last minute changes too.

You're right... the ABIT IC7 MAX3 does support the Prescott. I'm trying to get our readers involved with the forum, so I'm just planning on updating this post as we finish a review of a motherboard that has Prescott support if someone hasn't mentioned it yet.

You will also notice that I edited the first post so that the "Master List" can be seen easier.

I wonder if there's any truth in the rumour that if the mobo will support The P4c 3.2EE, then it will also support Prescott?
The latest IC7-G BIOS supports the EE
ersonally, I will believe they support Prescott only when I see one working. Intel will surely milk us for everything that they can. I wouldn't be counting on their claims being true when the time comes.

Before yuo buy one of these "Prescott ready boards" please read this article. I'd hate to see anyone wasye $150-200 on a board then have it burn up.

I can confirm IC7-MAX3 supports prescott cause i have used 1 in my board!

I think you will find this chart interesting, it compared all the Abit P4 boards, if u dont want to, ive done the homework for you:

Abit IC7-MAX3 (i875P) - Supports all Prescotts
Abit AS8 (i865PE) - Supports all Prescotts
Abit AI7 (i865PE) - Supports all Prescotts

Abit IC7-G v1.1(i875P) - Supports Prescott models to 3.2Ghz

I have a prescott 3.2E and an abit IC7-G and it works perfectly well. actually I managed to OC my prescott to 3.71GHZ.

this is a pretty dead thread....if a board doesn't support Prescott by now, its lifespan is coming to a quick end.
