Any ideas as to why I can't get 5.1 sound through the optical connection? (Toslink)
For some reason it will only allow me to configure it as a 2 speaker setup.
I'm using the Non-DTS drivers in Vista 64.

If I switch to analog cables, 3 of 'em, it will then do full 5.1 sound.

I think you need to playing a audio source that contains a 5.1 signal. Pop in a DVD and see what happens.

It makes no difference what source is being played.

When going into the Windows sound applet, it won't even show the option for anything other than 2 channel stereo to be set up.
My suspicion is that it has something to do with drivers.

I got tired of screwing with it and just reconnected the analog cables.
Now it works.
