P6T6 WS Revolution
P6T6 WS Revolution
Hi guys,
I couldn't really figure out why this board has 6 16xPCIexpress slots, wouldn't 3 suffice?
Or are three for SLI and the other three for Crossfire?

Re: P6T6 WS Revolution
Well I can see the point of four for running CrossFireX in Quad mode with say Radeon HD 4870 1GB cards, but six is a ton... Could you imagine tossing in 6 single slot cards for a folding system with that?
Re: P6T6 WS Revolution
i dont understand is , how many "physical" lane are with X58? b/c the nf200 is jsut bridge on top on the existing lane, like a switch board....
lets sat X58 has 32 physical lane and with 2 nf 200 to split to 96...but physically it will be bottle neck @ x58 side...and i dont like the idea of nf200 swtich bridge chip...since u not really getting all those lane u thought u getting

Re: P6T6 WS Revolution
I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out wtf would or could use that many slots..granted that with single slot cards you could but the only it would be useful for is folding and some hardcore graphic design(like Star wars lol)..almost busted one over seeing how many slots it had tho..my one complaint is theres no pci or pci-e x1 slot for a sound card..that..plus all i have are double slotted video cards(well will have) ...hell of a mobo though ...if the onboard sound is as good as my x-fi i may have found my new motherboard..spose I better decide over the rampage or this..just depends on whether i want to use my sound card or not lol..I do like the idea of full 16x 3 way sli though(not that it would be so different from 16x,8x,8x)

Re: P6T6 WS Revolution
Makes ya wonder why they did that, when the Rampage 2 Extreme is similar price but has one pci slot..on top of the sound card supplied and all the other goodies with it...
