Problems with D845WN & EVGA 7300GT Graphics Card

Post by maconvert »

Hello,

I’m trying to get my D845WN motherboard (AGP 2X/4X) to work with my EVGA 7300GT graphics card (AGP 4X/8X) but I’m having problems.
With Windows XP and the latest drivers from EVGA, I can get my PC to boot to the desktop some of the time, but not others.
Also, it does not like to be set to 1650 X 1080.
With Ubuntu, the resolutions available bounce all over the map and my choices seem to decline to fewer options at lower resolutions the longer I play with it.

Now, I’ve been able to get this graphics card to work seamlessly with an Intel D845GEBV2 motherboard, without installing any of the manufacturers drivers (just Windows XP drivers) so I know that the graphics card is just fine.

Could I have a BIOS setting that is causing this problem?

It’s extremely frustrating.

Anyway, I’d love to hear from someone who was able to get the EVGA 7300GT working with the Intel D845WN.

Please let me know.

Cheers!
