ASUS P5Q PRO need help to OC.

Post by BGNRS LUCK »

hello ASUS users. i tried to use a new asus p5q pro board and could get even a mild OC going so i put it aside for a while . before i try again in a new build was wondering if i colud get some help with the Ai Tweaking area on this board, its so different from any thing ive seen before, i mean WAY,WAY DIFFERENT!!! in particular the MEM OC charger,Ai Twisterand last but not least the Ai trans booster. i tried some settings others were using but could get anywhere. i have used a ASUS board before with great success but the Bios were nothing like these. im will be using a e5200, 7400 or 8400. if any one would like to share some settings for these or similar CPU Board combos i'll put you on the Christmas list early this year! thanks for your time and replies, D :prayer:

What speed of Memory r u going to use????? what CPU??? overclocking is very standard on this board more less its an all purpose MB. Try setting the AI over clock tunner, DRAM Timing Control, and Ai Transaction Booster to manual, then the BIOS should show you your fuctions for the MB for over clocking , Hard set front side buss to CPU speed, hard set Mem example 9-9-9-24 or your ram speed, MEM volts, look at the NB,SB, volt settings might want to raise them also if your going to try to over clocking. Check out this review for this MB http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/ha ... eview.html GOOD LUCK

Check out the link I posted. It might help.

Have you tried updating the BIOS? Don't use AI Tweaker and stuff to OC. Always do it manually for best results.

no, i have never flashed a BIO yet, never needed to so far. and i couldnt agree more about not using any preset tweaking tools!!! they limit what and how you can OC. i've spent way to much time learning how to ajust all the different settings, voltages, freq, ect. to leave it to these tools. i dont like or understand these areas, so far anyway. just another manufacturers gimmick to make their stuff different. what Bio would i flash to get a new look [old look]. thanks for your help very much, D :) PS. DIG YOUR PICTURE!!! YEAH BABY!
