i have the badaxe2 board in a long time and suddenly the audio is scratchy. i have the .86A Bios and XP Home.
i haven't installed anything new hardware or software wise. it seems especially bad when i try to load a program. i do have a hauppauge tv tuner card but that has been in a while too and was sounding fine. i took all the cards that were attached to the mobo and still had the problem. i thought of uninstalling the audio drivers and then reinstalling them but now am confused as to which one i should use as the intel page has 3 audio drivers.

i even disabled the onboard audio in the BIOS and put in an old audigy 2 sound card but still have the scratchy audio so now does that rule out the onboard audio?? does this mean that the mobo is dying?? or how else can i pinpoint the problem??
but the audio isn't scratchy all the time either...
thanks in advance
