Intel d975xbx2 Front Audio Panel HELP!!!

Post by jjnakim »

I have an Intel D975XBX2 motherboard and my case has front audio panel wires.
The front panel audio wires inside my case are as follows:

EAR_1_L
EAR_2_L
EAR_1_R
EAR_2_R
GND
MIC(WHERE DOES THIS ONE GO????

I am puzzled about were the microphone wire would plug into..... I have it setup how I should have it EXCEPT the MIC wire isn't plugged in because I have no idea where it goes.

Below is a diagram of how it should be setup, following a link!

For AC97 Front Panel Audio

1 MIC Front panel microphone input signal (biased when supporting stereo microphone)
2 AUD_GND Ground used by analog
3 MIC_BIAS Microphone power / additional MIC input for stereo microphone support
4 AUD_GND Ground used by analog audio circuits
5 FP_OUT_R Right channel audio signal to front panel (headphone drive capable)
6 FP_RETURN_R Right channel audio signal return from front panel (when headphones unplugged)
7 AUD_5V Filtered +5 V used by analog audio circuits
8 KEY No pin
9 FP_OUT_L Left channel audio signal to front panel (headphone drive capable)
10 FP_RETURN_L Left channel audio signal return from front panel (when headphones unplugged)

I have my EAR_1_L plugged into port_1_L
I have my EAR_2_L plugged into port_2_L
I have my EAR_1_R plugged into port_1_R
I have my EAR_2_R plugged into port_2_R
GND is plugged into GND
So where does my mic go????

What case are you using this in? Pin 1 and 3 are your mic connections for the the front (case). Most audio leads from the case will be a standard type that fits the 'keyed' header on the MB. If not the leads from the fron of your case should be marked.
Pin 1 PORT 1L Analog Port 1 - left channel (Microphone)
Pin 3 PORT 1R Analog Port 1 - right channel (Microphone)
