I have an older computer that I want to give to my brother and I wanted to install the new win7 Ultimate 64bit on it. my problem is that when installing, it says it can't find the drive (its a 300GB SATA drive from samsung) and is asking for drivers. on MSI's website I found no drivers for win7 at all for this MOBO. the MOBO is a MSI P4N Diamond. is there any way I could install win7 on this computer?
specs:

P4 D830
MSI P4N diamond (Nforce4 chipset)
4G OCZ reaper 6400
antec 500W
asus 8800GS 384MB
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I'm not familiar with the mobo although I do have an older AMD n-Forec4 chipset upstairs. Perhaps you could try Vista drivers. I used them when I first installed the W7 Beta earlier this year. Another thought, have you set the BIOS for SATA

it was running the same setup before with SATA in winXP Pro. I did try the vista drivers and they didn't work. what's more funny I tried the XP drivers and now it is installing - just takes a zilion years to do it
