Some very interesting pictures just landed in my inbox of the upcoming ASUS P7H57D-V EVO Motherboard! These are the first good quality pictures that I have seen of the Intel H57 Express chipset, so I had to share them with our forum members.
For those that don't know the upcoming H55/H57 chipset from Intel will feature integrated graphics and support for upcoming Intel Core i3 processors. This new platform was developed at the entry/mainstream market and was focused on low cost, flexibility, and solid integrated graphics. This chipset focused at Clarkdale support, so next year when Intel launches Core i3 Clarkdale processors it looks like the motherboard companies will be ready!
Here is the ASUS P7H57D-V EVO Motherboard!!
The back I/O panel offers plenty of connectivity. The board features a single purple PS/2 combo port and a total of fourUSB 2.0 ports available on the I/O panel with more available on the board itself. Additional connectivity includes an optical S/PDIF port, a single eSATA port, a single IEEE 1394a Firewire port, a single RJ-45 Gigabit LAN port and the eight channel surround sound ports. When it comes to video connections you have the 15-pin VGA port, DVI-D port and the HDMI port. This motherboard is fully HDCP compliant, so it should be ideal for Blu-Ray playback or for any other protected content. The pair blue USB slots are SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface headers.
It looks like the ASUS P7H57D-V EVO Motherboard has 8+2 Phase PWM power arrangement just like the P7P55D series
The board features four DDR3 sockets plus the MemOK! function. ASUS has dedicated 2 Phase PWM with the OV_DRAM jumper for those looking to overclock.
The Intel H57 IGP chipset is a single chip solution and the heat sink is fairly large and passively cooled. There are four USB 2.0 headers and the two SATA III 6Gbps headers along the bottom left edge of the board and a single IDE header and six internal SATA II 3.0Gbps headers along the bottom right side.
The ASUS P7H57D-V EVO Motherboard has two legacy PCI interfaces, Dual PCI-E x16 slots and three PCI-E x 1 slots. The board will run both NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFire. It also features the PLX chip, which is used to connect the Marvell SATA III 6Gbps controller to the PCIe 2.0 bus on the chipset.
Here is a quick shot of the primary slot and the name of the board.
Here is a closer look at the PLX chip, which is used to connect the Marvell SATA III 6Gbps controller to the PCIe 2.0 bus on the chipset.
A closer look at the NEC controller for USB 3.0!
