Get ready to take out loan to buy that system! Good god, talk about overkill. What will four 7800's give you, like 4 extra FPS at 1600x1200?** I can see two cards being cool, but four!? Come on!
**I know that's an exaggeration, just stating that it's unnecessary.

Right with ya shWa, I am speechless on this one....you're talking close to 2K in video cards alone for the high-end 7800's; what's next, video games that are acted out by real actors and display in true human form without pixellations or artifacts?????? jeez!!!

I think it's with nvidia's new chipset.. 32 pcie lanes
I think the nforce4 has 24 lanes in total
16 for SLI (8 lanes for each card)
if it was with a nforce4 then it would run all with 4 lanes each

oh ok, it's just lane division; well, you sorta lose out a little bit in that exchange; you might gain a couple frames but I couldn't justify the cost, lol; I can't even justify the cost of SLI, but considering DFI has the Infinity SLI out, I might give it a try, just to see how good it really is; I know Rich was telling me his system is a screamer with dual 7800's, so I believe I'll give it a try.

`
Dual 7800's !!
That's overkill, I couldn't bring myself to go SLI... ATI's crossfire looks better to me..They seem to have a big issue where they can run over 1600x1200 @ 60Hz!! But I'm hoping that the new gen card will allow higher resolutions..
If not.. 7800GTX by mid November I think!
Anyway, It's 3:34AM here.. soo I'm off to bed

yeah, I'm thinking 7800 myself; like I said, we'll have to see; I might just get the board for right now and upgrade later or something, don't know yet; yeah it's almost 11 here, so ttyl

Even the mighty 7800GTX can be brought down to the low 40's by Riddick at 1600x1200 with max settings, 4XAA, and 16XAF. And crippling an X1800 XT to the high 20's.
Which is why you need SLI, so you can run Riddick at 1920x1200 with max settings, 4XAA, and 16XAF on a Dell 2405FPW.
It's just like when 3dfx released the 8MB Voodoo 2 and all the nerds with deep pockets got one so they could game at 800x600.
And with Voodoo SLI, a select few enjoyed the beauty of 1024x768.

yeah, if you have nearly a grand for dual 7800GTX's, lol. something I definitely don't have. barely have enough for a single 7800

how about when in 4mths time you need to upgrade again as you can't play a game @ 1920x1200 with max settings, 4XAA, and 16XAF...
You then need to buy 2x GFX cards again?

Yeah, I mean these games coming out are getting insane with system requirements, esp video card. What's next, pure CG video games, lol?

Soo you have to wait 3-4 times longer to upgrade... you then need to pay 3-4 times the $$$ --> along with a new cpu to keep up with them.. more ram... an even bigger monitor....another mortgage... lol

hey, I have equity in my house, lol. Only borrowed half its worth to pay my parents for it. Dunno if I can get it out though because my credit is down the tubes, lol. But maybe they'll give me a break and allow me to draw, lol. All I need is around 3 grand, that's all

oh, ok... THAT won't be overkill whatsoever...
goodness gracious.... if there's someone who can actually utilize this motherboard in today's (and tomorrow's) busted-ass economy, more power to them
