Hello Guys,
I have the following PC:
Manufacturer : Packard Bell BV
Product : PT890-8237A

it came with NO parallel and serial port. I bought months ago a parallel PCI-E port which works fine. I have to buy now a serial Port but don't know if the remaining two white slots are PCI compliant or PCI-E.
from PC wizard those are the main characteristics:

Code: Select all

 Slots Information :
Slot PCI-Express :	32-bit [5.0v] - Empty

Slot PCI-Express :	32-bit [5.0v] - Empty
Slot PCI-Express :	32-bit [5.0v] - Unspecified
then PCI bus entry:

Can you post a picture of your board? If you can we can give you a 100% answer, but since I am seeing AGP mentioned I am going to say that you don't have a PCIe x16 slot.

Many thanks for your prompt answer. I am afraid i can't take a photo of my motherboard, but it is FOXCONN n15235. it is similar to this one
Image

the only difference the shorter yellow slot is behind the two white slots. the latter are empty and near my GeForce card. also can i know which version of PCI/PCi-E ls

the two white slots are PCI, the short yellow is PCI Express 1x, and the top yellow is PCI express x16

Yup, the white slots are certainly without a doubt PCI slots.

Sound cards, TV tuners(sometimes), and some other things I can't think of... I've recently seen some news about new low end GPU's using them too.
