DG33BU Upgrade Questions

I plan to drop a Q9550 processor in my DG33BU.
Has anybody tried this combination? The Q9550 is a approved processor for this board.
I was wondering if there were any issues:
Heat? Setup? Etc?
I am going to use the Intel cooler that comes with the processor.
Does the Bios automatically set the FSB?
I plan to boot to Bios at first boot to check and do an Exit/Save...
Thanks in advance...

looking at the
CPU support list you need at least the 0484 BIOS version, the latest version of your BIOS is available
Here, you just have to download the appropriate file for the type of flashing you use, I would suggest
Express BIOS Update [DPP3510J.86A.0517.EB.EXE] - Self-extracting Windows*-based update file includes Software License Agreement and the utility for updating the BIOS. It is designed to be used on Windows* systems. This method is the most commonly used.
as you can flash it from Windows which is easiest
looking at the massive Northbridge heatsink, the G33 chipset should run cool enough, and the CPU will likely run fairly warm with its stock heatsink, so i would strongly recommend an aftermarket heatsink, the
Cooler Master Hyper 212 can be had mostly anywhere for $30 and is a very capable cooler
and the BIOS should automatically configure the CPU based on it's CPUID, but I always verify everything is running at its rated specs on a new build

Thanks for the tips.
1. My Bios is up to date
2. I have two 120mm Case Fans: one in front and one in the rear. They blow air across the Motherboard from front to back.
Right now they are on low speed. I think I'll try bumping them up to medium and monitor my CPU temp. Plus, my power supply has two fans in it.
If that doesn't work I'll go with the Heat Sink you recommend.
Right now my E6600 is running at 28 deg C.

Looks like I'll need that cooler you mentioned. I just processed a batch of photos with a CPU intensive application and my CPU got to 76C.
Specs call for 71.4C max.
The stock cooler isn't cutt'n it.

I went with a Corsair A50 because that's all I could get in town.
My idle temperature dropped from 58C to 39C.
My heavy use temperature dropped from 76C to 42C.
What a difference!
