Intel D915GUX motherboard questions.

Post by shultzjr »

Hi all,

I have the following:

Intel Desktop Boards
Model: D915GUX
Serial Num: BTUX43400577
EV91510A.86A.0482.2006.0222.2350
DDR2-533 dual channel mode
1664MB System RAM
available memory 2432MB System RAM
Legacy keyboard Detected
USB Legacy Enabled

It has a Pentium 4 3.2GHz dual core cpu with a factory fan in it.

Questions:

1. The cpu core runs at around 200 degrees F most of the time, what is the coldest cpu cooler I can put on this thing?

2. it has four 1G crucial ram sticks in it, why doesn't it say 4G of ram in the post?

3. is shows running at 533MHz, shouldn't it be able to do 800MHz on the fsb?

4. If external usb hd plugged in at front, it stops booting right after the USB Legacy Enabled line?

5. I have run memtest and Prime95 on it and have found no problems, did I not run them long enough?

6. where do I find the latest bios for this motherboard? it has the one that came with it when new.

thahks for all feedback,
charles.......

look at intels website for the BIOS or google your board with BIOS written to it. there are a lot of CPU coolers out there, question is how much can you afford? that is the bus speed of the CPU currently running at, 533 is 133 FSB . 800 bus speed is 200 FSB (trying to remember how Intel did it back then....) as far as the hdd problem on the front USB ports does it do that when it is plugged into the rear USB ports?
Mini ME
Is in a state of flux....

I have the same board as you it was a emachines t3522 and has a gateway bios my Q: for you is can you set up a raid array in your Intel bios? Oh, and duel core? didn't think that was possible with that board, nice work.
