UDF only on older Gigabyte MoBo

Post by jnanster »

Friends
Creating and ISO from student d/l Win 7 promotion.
Have a Gigabyte ep45 ud3p MoBo.
The process is to run oscdimg.exe to create ISO.
My question is should I create an image that has both the UDF file system and the ISO 9660 file system
OR
UDF only version (as it seems everyone else is doing)
I know the older Gigabyte boards have a hermaphrodite UDF bios and not sure what it needs to load the OS.
Thanks

Are you asking how to create a bootable Windows 7 DVD or how to create an ISO. Sorry couldn't quite tell.

Know how to make ISO/DVD/boot thumbdrive.
My concern is the early Gigabyte "sort-of UDF" bios.
The dos prompt oscbimg.exe program that makes the ISO has options to create a UDF ONLY ISO or a UDF and ISO 9660 file system.
Just purchased a new Samsung SSD at the "Egg" and will need to do an install.
ALL the oscbimg.exe tutorials on the web call for the UDF only BUT with the goofy transitional UDF bios that Gigabyte used, not sure what to do.
I'm afraid

I have no clue on what you are even talking about, because I never ever had to worry about udf oscbing or what ever for installing windows on any type of motherboard on any specific type of drive, or raid configuration. anything from asus to msi and everything in between. if you purchased a SSD and want to do a fresh install with A USB flash stick read this HERE, for you to copy from an ISO file to the USB drive, grab Win rar and uncompress it, or get yourself Alcohol and mount the image then copy the contents to the USB. then in the BIOS set the boot order to come off of the USB drive (it be located under your HDD's) then let it install, after first reboot, reenter bios set boot order to primary HDD.

if you wanting to carry over your original windows 7 from another drive, use acronis to mirror one drive to put on the other.
