HELP HELP Abit AB9 Pro Assembly HELP

Last night I started to assemble a new system.
Here are the specifications:
MB: Abit AB9 Pro
CPU: E6300 retail
RAM: Buffalo Firestick PC6400 2048mb
VGA: ATI X1600 Pro
HD: WD 160gb SATA
DVD+-RW DL
PSU: COOLMAX|CX-400B 400W RT
CASE: Power Up Black ATX Mid-Tower Case with Front USB and Audio Ports and Touch-Sensitive Controls
After completing the assembly, I attempted to power up the system to install the OS. When the power supply is plugged in the board power light comes on and the BIOS LED panel flashes a “2”. Nothing else happens. The case power button lights up like it is attempting to turn on and then nothing. Nothing ever comes across the monitor, no fans turn. Any and all advice or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

first test with one stick of ram in one slot, then try another slot....then another....when you've tested all slots, do the same with the other stick.
If it still doesn't boot, re-seat the CPU........if it still doesn't boot, re-seat the GFX....
If after this it doesn't work, test it with the board outside the case.....you might have one of the mobo stand-offs screwed into the wrong place on the case and it's causing a short on the board. also a loose screw could be causing a short.

There is a loose screw on one of the mounting points. The screw is to small for the hole. Should I remove the screw and the spacer?

prolly yes......but you should take the whole board out and try boot it. This way you can be sure......

Thank everyone for the suggestions.
The problem was that I didn't realize that the touch buttons must be held for a second rather than just a touch and release.

Where should the temp sensor be placed to get best readings?

What temp sensor?
Don't put it on the CPU core.......it only causes more heat

Its a temp sensor that has an LED output on the front of the case. its just loose on the bottom right now

If you can, try fit it onto the top of your heatsink between it's fins.....use some tape to hold it on.......and try a few different locations......use what ever gives the highest temps or give closest temp to what the uguru software reports for the cpu temp
Or you could place it on the chipset heatsink.......it all depends on what you want to monitor.....
I don't have this board, but it is a temp sensor or the "UGuru" panel connector?
The uguru panel connects @ the bottom of the board......right below the 3 capacitors in a row......the red jumpper.
