D975XBX2 Video Problem (Resolved)

Post by jfh60 »

Resolution:

Thanks to OCZ tech support (Tyler), I was able to resove the problem by raising the memory voltage. It was a pleasent experience to call a toll free number and talk to a person who was very intereted in resolving my problem. OCZ is definetly an A1 company.

I have a new XP Pro (SP2 with all updates) system with the following:
Antec P150 with 430 watt PS
Intel D975XBX2
Intel 6600 Process
2 Gig OCZ Mem
NEC 90GX2 Monitor
ATI 1600X Pro Video
Creative X-FI Xtreme Music Audio
WD 250 Sata drive (using IDE)
120 Seagte IDE
Plextor IDE DVD/CD
Sony Floppy

All non-gaming functions are fine.

Problem:
When playing NBA 2006 and Madden 2007 the games will start and then freeze after a short time. The system then needs to be rebooted. It seems as if the sytem has discounted from the monitor because I get a NEC no DVI connection message box.

When playing High Heat 2004 and Pro Evolution Soccer 4 the games may freeze briefly but I am able to finish them.

I Have no problems with Links 2003.

Contacted ATI and NEC who told me their components are funtioning fine.
Used Memtest to test the memory.
I hope someone from Intel monitors this forum becuse there is no E-mail support and I don't want to spend money on a non toll free call.

Any suggestions appreciated.
