I updated my BIOS to the 2618 update. After it was done loading I went into setup. I was going through the menus then it froze. I restarted and now hear 3 beeps with nothing.

Matsuya-

This happens to me occasionally when I adjust RAM timings. Try this- power off, pull the power plug, push the power button. This will drain all power to the MB. Now change the BIOS jumper to "maintenance" and power back on. Make all the BIOS changes you need and save. It will tell you to power off and move the BIOS jumper back.

Others have said they also need to pull the BIOS battery, but I haven't had to. Before I figured out these steps I was able to get into maintenance mode by pulling one DIMM and changing the jumper.

Remember, before you remove memory or plug-in cards, you want to pull the power plug and push the power button to drain power. Otherwise, you could damage the DIMM or card because the MB still has voltage, even if the PC is off. I like to put my PC on a power strip so I can leave it plugged in (and thus grounded), but completely remove power by turning off the power strip so that there's no chance I can hurt anything. There are some power supplies with a hard power switch that will also let you do this. You want to make sure the standby LED on the motherboard is off before removing anything that's plugged into the MB.
