can't boot D975XBX2 and can't repair bios.

Post by boo50 »

hello.
here is my short story
i've D975xbx2 mobo, xeon 3050 and TT Big Typhon.

yesterday i tried to get 450 fbs, and my system won't boot more.

here is the short story

first i've get the 440 FSB and boot ok.
voltages was

CPU: <1.475V>
Front side Bus Voltage Override: <1.375V>
MCH / ICH Voltage Overrride <1.675V>

after i tried to get 443 fbs and also boot ok
after i set up the 450 fsb and freezes at POST test with EB error code

i tried to setup a little more volatges

CPU: <1.5V>
Front side Bus Voltage Override: <1.4V>
MCH / ICH Voltage Overrride <1.7V>
(extreme a little, yeah?? for air cooled)

after that system also freezes at boot at the same EB code (Calling Video BIOS )
here is codes
http://support.intel.com/support/mot...434.htm#errors
after i've go down with all settings, and can't boot anymore with any configurations.
also i've reset bios settings by booting with jumper recovery position.
and can't boot this stock settings too.

i tried to recovery bios

i've remover power and battery
burn *.bio file to cd (havn't floppy - so can't try it) - on second machine =0)
and nothing happen again.
if hdd's plugged in - contiously reboots every 2 sec
if hdd's unplugged - seems like cd reading, sometimes it's reboots, but screen is always black.
and cd is still reading and reboot sometimes.... and that's all............

find this detailed instruction on Intel site
http://support.intel.com/support/mot...3360.htm#cdrom
but i don't see nothing like this.
i doesn't see anything - just a black screen.
suppose my mobo just a little broke ....

i see here theread about equal problem with 2 display - so i'm too have 2 displays - both DVI on XFX GeForce 7300 GT, and i tried all this with one display too - same result - no result ...

so i can't boot - because freezes a "EB" post code.
and can't recovery bios - because nothing happen when i start recovery process with CD.

You have never overclocked? If you haven't ever overclocked why does your signature say that your Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 is running at 3.36GHz?

At default settings the E6300 is only 1.86GHz, so you must have overclocked it ;)

well i guess it does look deceiving i just figured 1.86Ghz x2 is 3.72Ghz total.
now i think of it i should change it to 1.86Ghz.

yeah you can't do the math like that.... if that is the case my 3.6GHz Intel QX6700 (overclocked) would be 14.4GHz since it has four cores....... lol

I see people do the math like that on e-bay to scam people or make things seem faster than they are ;)
