d975xbx2 bios update problem
Posted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 2:51 pm
Hey guys.
I have a d975xbx2 running on a vista 64 system. I have bios 2507 right now and I'm trying to update to bios 2634. I have downloaded the express bios update and I get error messages as follows.
They say pictures are worth 1000 words. So here we go.
I double click on the express bios update 2634.

Next, the bios update window opens and windows defender complains that it found changes to system.

Next, I go to defender - you can see the files in question it doesn't like.

I hit "Permit" on both of those files, then hit apply actions.

I go back to the bios update window, two system errors about unsigned drivers come up.

I hit "Close" on those boxes, hit yes on the liscence agreement.

Next, a "Severe Error" pops up within the bios update application.

Steps I've taken:
Disabled Windows Defender - Didn't work
Tried going into F8 boot options & disabling driver enforcement - Didn't work
Tried using cmd line bcdedit to disable driver enforcement - Didn't work
Can you guys help me out? This is really starting to piss me off, and Intel avoids the topic and says "Try using the recovery bios update".
