I'm trying to set up a machine for OS benchmarking multiprocessor/multicore systems. I'd like to have two dual-core CPUs with a way to selectively turn off processors and cores as painlessly as possible (preferably in BIOS). Does anyone know of a motherboard that could support such a setup?
The chips I'm looking at Intel Xeon 51xx series, so I'd need a socket 771 board for that, but I'm interested in hearing about other setups as well.
Thanks in advance...
Motherboard with BIOS that can selectively disable CPUs?

I'm not sure about server boards but the BX2 has the ability to disable secondary cores in the BIOS.
