Vista Upgrade Question

Post by stalinorgan »

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. I am trying to upgrade to Vista, and can't because I don't have the latest drivers for the Marvell 61xx controller that's on the Intel 975XBX2 mobo. That is preventing the Vista CD from completing the install. Can't find them on Marvell's crummy website, and have googled to no avail. Didn't see anything posted here on it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, I upgraded to Intel's BIOS 2634 today with no problems. I solved the Marvell startup error messages that I see others have gotten, by simply connecting my hard drive's SATA cable to a blue port (Marvell supported) on the mobo instead of the black one (Intel) that I originally connected to. Went into Marvell setup and configured the HD and then the array. You get a red message that says you might lose your "file data", so I'm thinking is this going to reformat my HD or something stupid like that, but nothing bad happened. The only thing now is that an Intel program runs after the Marvell message, and it takes a while, before Windows starts. This didn't happen before.

Here's my machine, which I built last month:

Thermaltake Silver Kandalf Aluminum Full Size Tower (it's BIG)
Intel 975XBX2 mobo
Core 2 E6600 2.4Ghz CPU
Western Digital Raptor 150GB/10Krpm/16MBcache/SATA
2 Plextor DVD/CD Model 716A SATA
Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty
Logitech Z-10 speakers
Radeon X1950 XTX 512MB graphics card which included the OCZ memory 4GB
Gamestream 700watt SATA/SLI power supply (first one was DOA no problems with this one)
Viewsonic 22" display
